What's all this about tradition? I never mentioned tradition. I'm confused.Basically I listen to these guys and think 'Hmm, impressive technique but you don't really communicate emotionally do you'.It depends what you want from music. To me this is the difference between acrobatics and ballet. The acrobat is impressive but artistically inferior to the ballerina.

"Traditionally?" No, man. I'm saying that he's all flash. He can run scales like anyone else who plays...well, hair metal, but there's no emotion. It's so robotic. He knows what he's doing, but what he's doing disgusts me.

You said that Joe Satriani has no musicianship, so I ask you if you if this is true, is he not making music because he doesn't play the guitar traditionally?

I don't agree with the whole "music is numbers' thing.I love blues and jazz as much as the next person but I LOVE Joe because he has good feel, good tone, and he knows what to play at the right time. Now some moron shredder sitting in his basement and just playing scales really fast and stuff...It doesnt sound like music...just sounds like the musical equivilant of somebody vomitting.

Wrong. Music isn't maths, or emotion. It's art. It's how you express yourself and that Satriani does well. Please stop flaming all the great guitarists when they're pretty much all skilled the same and just play different styles.

sorry, my bad.

Play some REAL blues, you robots!Stevie Ray Vaughn would kick both your white-bread asses. These soulless bastards are ruining rock. Don't think in scales! Are you frickin' Motzart. MUSIC ISN'T MATH. It'S EMOTION. SATRIANI HAS NONE.

No, it's not.The first Timmons signature model, the AT100, was essentially an RG, but with some changes made. Look it up.

I wonder where the last place you played was... with a response like that, I guess all we have to do is wait for your amazing video response to realize exactly how great your delusions of grandeur have become! My guess is you'll never wander outside the pentatonic scale, and your video will be fodder for us all. I can't wait! |
