Hahaha, I'm glad you reminded me of that - the series in particular. I would have tried to come up wit excuses that the movies are bull-crap, but certainly, the series nearly reach the level of the manga.In fact, I consider the Ghost in the Shell saga as my most favourite, own most of all stuff about it and contributed to the Wikipedia-articles. (Actually, I'm planning on a colloquium about it - in the course of political decision-making in Japan. :-p)Mea culpa. Thanks for reminding.

feh there was nothign to be disliked about the ending only a couple anime's by my opinion have reached the lvl of action, originality, and great story lines. and thats FLCL bleach and deathnote but thats just my opinion some pepole might agree with me but the fact remains that this anime is a fuckin legend and theres nothing to dislike about it and also the movie if uve goten the opertunity to see it

In fact, NGE depicts the peak of anime, I think. And I'm certainly not alone with that opinion. There's been Trigun, Cowboy Bebop and some Ghibli movies later, but they never reached the epic level of this anime anymore. The fact, that its write spent 5 years in depression probably contributes to the profoundness which is especially revealed in the last two episodes (The Fountain or Jainism anyone?). The write was said to have freaked out when the public declared to have disliked the end. :-p
