Yes, most people are aware of the overseas meaning of Yank.Back to the original point: the person was an a**hole for making the comment. Going out of one's way to mention hatred of a particular country is no different than offhandedly mentioning a racial or religious hatred. It only points out the speaker's (or writer's) own closed-minded stupidity.

i knew four of the people who died thats the worst thing thats ever happened in the history of enterprise.i was so scared my best friend's house was completely demolished.my dad went out and helped clean the trees out of peoples' houses. we all learned that we really can rely on our neibors because everyone was helping those who had lost anything.but our lives are changed now and we all moved on,but we will never forget what happened that day and those who were lost and those who lost someone.

I come from the UK, I might not know much about the pwople that live there but all my thoughts till this day go to all those in Enterprise, My deepest sympathy go to those who lives were lost and those who lost loves ones, I will say That the people of Enterprise, I will say now... Who are strong willed people and i feel that you will overcome anything.

The thing is is that we are from the South we aren't Yanks. And I'm appalled that you would even post such a comment. No matter what country, people hurt the same. The loss of a child, in America, China, Australia wherever still hurts. You have no idea what the City of Enterprise, the school system and the parents and friends of those 8 amazing kids that were lost that day have went through. So if you cant comment maturely. then please keep your rude comments to yourself. Thanks.

Natural disasters... I'd care more if this had happened in any other country than america. The thing is, I really can't shed any tears over the yanks, sorry.
