Legendary Sir Winston Churchill is the Icon of the War, incredible speeches and his troops defeated Germans on their own in Battle of Britain.. but over 80% of Germans based on Soviet lines.. gratitude to RussiaEven though the Soviets as the Superpower of the allies with a bigger military than all others combined killed over 75% of the axis..Stalin was a control freak.So yes more than Stalin i give the Russian people most credit for without them we wouldn't be speaking English today.

Not true. I have read that Hitler blundered at Dunkirque, but he actually gave a stop order as to not destroy the B.E.F. and show himself as not antagonizing the British, whose empire he admired and never wished destroyed due to its world stablizing influence. He wanted lebensraum, to the East and thought Britain would fight against Stalinist Russia on the side of Germany. Stalin was by far the worse evil in 1940. He never gave a second thought to peace after war was declared.

jrm21386, i'm afraid you are mistaken. Churchill alone begged parlaiment to rearm from 1933 on. all three british parties were extreme appeasers at the time, a unique combination of arrogance and cowardice. Churchill could have totally handled Hitler and Stalin and keep trade going.

Of course they did, what I meant is that Churchill through his drunken stupidity allowed it to happen while simultaneously managing to lose the British empire in the process.
