still the same bette with the same talent, oozes out of her, nbut i always thought her music shows worked best as the cheeky working class getto girl, , but what a knock out voice huh? even though its more now in the vein of a theatrical musical style, its still very very powerful... try to catch her late 70's appearances if any of you can

Well in fact Janis's family refused to allow the Rose to be a authorized Bio-pic..thus thestudio made a "ALMOST LIKE" version over threats of being sued. In any event..Bette is the best!! I have seen her 8 times over 30 year span and she never disapointed. Lets hope she doesnt experience low tickets sells which made Cher to cancel her run early.all reviews appear to be great..and its all about the dollar in Vegas no matter who you are..I think bette will survive SHES A TROOPER

Janis was the inspiration for the script, but the story is part Bette too. From a January 1980 interview in People magazine, "'This isn't going to be Janis, this is going to be me and whomever God can conjure up.'" If you look at Bette's early career, you'll see a lot of similarities.PS - this clip is from "Diva Las Vegas," & she was in her 50's at the time. Unfortunately, she doesn't sing this song in the current show (she DOES sing "When A Man Loves A Woman") -- I saw it two weeks ago :D
