No, the Southern Democratic Party. And...when President Johnson and Northern Democrats pushed the Civil Rights Act of 1964 and the Voting Rights Act of 1965 through Congress, Johnson accurately predicted that Democrats had lost the South "for a generation". The GOP has taken advantage of that to win in the South for the last forty years.I am an independent, but lets' be fair and accurate about this.
