Actually, if you have a dictionary you should open it up.Socialism is defined as "When the means of production is in the hands of those who do the actual producing" an example is a factory co-owned by every worker in it.What you are actually calling socialism is social responsibilty, which is both in your Constitution AND the statement on of the Statue of Liberty.It's actually what America was founded on. Read a book.
