It is not a children's cartoon. It was show on Cartoon Network as a "period Piece." I do not understand what all the uproar is about. This cartoon is not racist; it was propaganda showing the Nazis as the aggressive assholes they were. Humor abounds as mentioned throughout the strings attached. Popeye was NOT British.

Now Popeye is the head Nazi lol.

Popeye is way too outdated for today's T.V.; when the cartoon was made, there were still a lot of sailors who worked under primitive conditions and had to "know the ropes," end result of tying so much rope was uber larger forearms. To a New Englander familiar with sailors, even today Popey cartoons are probably uproariously funny, to everyone else though...

This video wasnt banned a long time ago, i showed this to my mom and she actaully watched this on tv, once the war was over and the world decided to start censoring the world tv, they took out stuff like this for fear of offending and racial jokes that are in many of the older cartoons. Nonethe less they are still enjoyable to watch ^_^

Ugh. Jewish hate is never funny. Nothing clever or anything, just a jew running around in his orthodox outfit whapping Gentiles with socks full of horse manure.

It's actually the Nazi's that's the racism. The spinach to Britain was just something added that Popeye was doing, as if you didn't know that....
RobotwarsKing (September 7, 2008 at 12:13 am)
I mean, how is it racist to provide Spinach supplies to Britain?"We are upside-down! Or Downside-up!" |
