This was shown on PBS in the mid-80's as part of a "folk-rock reunion" special.

No one else crouches over his drums guite like the legendary Levon Helm. He puts a lumpin my throat every time I see him perform.

i used to work in an office that directly acrosss the street from a recording studio where havens was working. I got to see him every day for months. He was always gracious and kind.

Kudos to Richie Havens!Does it get any better than that?

This song sung in UNISON by the original band members makes it GREAT in my opinion! The original lineup had wonderful harmony!

The song was written by Gene Clark with the lyric "rain grey town" added by Crosby. McGuinn did the original path breaking arrangement. Originally the song was sung in unison by the Hillman Mcguinn and Crosby. But Gene Clark deserves the writing credit.

"...why did they do one of his songs then, with all due respect to Mcguinn."Because Eight Miles High, a song widely recognized as one of the classics of 60s psychedelic rock, was written and sung by McGuinn, the guy who also performed the breakthrough solo patterned after John Coltrane's solo on "India"?

Well yeah sure him doing the vocals on his song makes sense, but it's more like, why did they do one of his songs then, with all due respect to Mcguinn.
