As far as I'm aware none of the band have a specificly christian religious belief though many of the songs have a "spiritual" element to them. If you type 'marillion song explanations' into a search engine you'll find a great site that has notes on the lyrics to every marillion album.

I personally believe that the song is about new beginnings, or a kind of rebirth. I remember that Hogarth was inspired for the lyrics by returning to Ireland. Perhaps the theme of the album Seasons End is a clue also. Fish has left, and now the there is a new beginning. I may be completely out, but its my theory. I certainly wouldnt think that the song is specifically about Jesus.

I like this band and I like this song, but are they taking about the resurrection of Christ? If not, does anyone have any ideas to offer? Nice guitar work. Nice clear picture too.

I saw these guys in '83 on a trip to London at the Hammersmith Odeon as a support act. They were unreal. Everyone were dancing on their seats. Can't remember who the main act were, though. |
