Just like the Canucks have done for the last 19 seasons?

You stated on another comment "Wrong one player does not make a team" and you are correct..But a team with no leader goes nowhere as well.
integra99rs (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Gary Roberts will not beat a team 1 on 6..But his experience and leadership makes teams better. All great teams have a good leader, Stevy Y, Joe Sakic, MJ, Jason Varitek. What is sad is you stated "I know thats not what you meant" yet...you insulted me like it was what i meant...Sad is right.

MJ? Oh yeah, have you ever seen one of his games? I have seen him take on all players on the court and beat them all...Don't you think its odd when MJ retired the Bulls dropped to the bottom like a ball off a table? Who said 1 vs 6? I never said 1 vs 6? I'm reading what i said and I never said that. What i said was Leadership is important, and that one leader makes the team..meaning he/she leads them
Jenn68 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
So you are saying MJ could take on a squad single handed? Gary Roberts too? 1 versus 6? Hmmm...I know that is not what you meant but that is your talking point of this debate? Sad.

First of all jenn68 you dont have any idea what your talking about, some people are so ungratefull it's mind boggling. Trevor linden played with more heart and passion then anyone in a canucks uniform, arguably in the entire leaque. He was a leader by example and his charity work is commendable, shame on you for mentioning "bald cancer kids" have you no heart to realize what those kids are going through. If you can make a sick kid happy just by showing your face, why not do it? #16 FOREVER!!!

One player does not make a team? hmm ok Michael Jordan? I think he was a Basketball player with the a team called the Bulls...Not sure. You don't think his leadership skills helped the Canucks? Have you ever played a sport in your life? Leadership is big..Look at Gary Roberts, Jason Varitek.
Jenn68 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Wrong. One player does not a team make. The most wonderful moment I ever witnessed was when Keenan told him to sit his useless ass down during a line change. Trading him a few days later was icing on the cake. Linden can spend the rest of his life cruising for male prostitutes with all the overpriced ticket money you gave him.
bigperm66 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
Without Linden's leadership, the canucks would have never made it to the cup final like they did that ONE time where Linden was the captain. And the cancer kids.... How can u say something like that? To some of them, seeing Trevor was the most inspirational thing they have been trough, especially while battling something as fatal as cancer. Shame on you because you are NOT a true Canuck Fan. Trevor Forever!

Trevor Linden was definitely a great hockey player in his day, but to me he embodies class. He gave up the "C" to Messier when he got traded there without even making a fuss. He was way more about the logo on the front than the name on the back and he did anything it took to win. A true leader and role model. Atta boy Trevor, i will miss you! |
