Don't forget music is not as expansive as we like to believe. There is very much a limit on what we can do. If we look at the billions/trillions of songs that were already created I think U'll find that most if not ALL melodies have already been done, wheather it was by insperation or pure coinsidence.

Yes, DJ was out around 1982 I think, but the Violent Femmes were out in 1980. The Pixies in 1985.

That is a good point, but was the melody Daniel's own? For some reason, it vaguely reminds me of something from Violent Femmes or The Pixies, but I could just be trippin'.
