the bottle is also a safety issuse lol apparently it is so if there is a fire if everyone runs for the exit if there are bottles on the floor if the lids are on they wont crush if they are stepped on and people will tripp on them but if the lid is off they will crush and people will run normally;)

They take the lids away because if you fill the bottle up with liquid and put the lid on, and throw it its going to be much heavier, and potentially do more damage. however if you can't put a lid on, as the bottle travels most of the liquid will escape. According to the people who take away the lids anyway!

yeh but if they take the lids and someone throws a bottle at u it wont hurt as much coz the drink wud have come flying out.

it's so that there's less of a chance the bottle can weigh enough to do harm because without a lid it can't hold much content in motion.
