I will second that....It NOT edited....why is everyone so quick to call out a fake on here....Obviously there are certain circumstances for short take offs. I have seen a United 727-100 series use half of a 4400 foot runway in Moline, Illinois on its takeoff run bound for Denver back in 1988. So, dont be so quick to judge...

Nope, I believe it is real, not edited. This is footage from an open house at Stewart AFB. There are others videos of the same take off roll where you can hear the announcer talking about the aircraft. Obviously he's empty, probably just enough fuel to do the demo and get back around again. Remember, that bird weighs 380,000, but can lift off at over 800,000 lbs! That's a shitload of thrust, pushing an empty fuselage with a lot of lift potential. I've flown on them. Amazing aircraft.

although i did not film this i know its not edited during the actual take off. there are edits to make the video smaller but that actual take off is not. it is entirely possible to take off this quick with a strong headwind .i do it all the time on flight simulator 2004 and X.

i work with this dudes all days, they are not going to be replaced you can be sure, usaf are just changing the old and loud engines for the new ones that are in the c17 globemaster, so they are now faster, smother, a lot more quiet and less gass. they are the best planes ever! hard as a freaking rock!
