This is an excellent demo of the Kitchner stitch. I could never do it correctly until I followed thi steps on this video. Thanks!

I stop and say continue to the end of the row and then pick it up again. This is to keep the video shorter than seeing each stitch when the stitches are the same. Sorry if it confused you. Try watching it again with this in mind.
