"Sir: I have no problem with the epic of gilgamesh, it simply gives the story of Noah more credibility, in fact all over the world are stories that support the great flood."I'm a woman. Stories from all over the world merely record the fact that local floods occur all over the world. The Mesopotamian legends may refer to a flood on the Euphrates or the infilling of the Black Sea. Cretaceous layer? Do you mean the clay layer at the K/T boundary? You'd better look that up.

Sir: I have no problem with the epic of gilgamesh, it simply gives the story of Noah more credibility, in fact all over the world are stories that support the great flood. Then you have the creatatious layer (spelling) that consists of dead marine animals, it is universal, meaning you find it on every single continent, and it is evidence that the world was at one point in recent history (if the geological column is correct..:P) that the entire world was under water.

Ebola: The seawater is getting more and more salty as time goes by, the so the answer to your question is this, in the beginning it was most likely fresh water, and animals living in freshwater can gradualy adapt to salt water, this cannot go the other way around however.

Religion is science, not religion. Obviously.

"Agreed. Read the Epic of Gilgamesh. It sounds almost the same as Noah's ark story."Right down to the birds. It's based on the earlier epic of Ziasudra. In the Akkadian version the people had become numerous and were making too much noise - Atra-hasis was instructed to build a ship and so on.....
