In my opinion, this is the second best scene in the movie (number one being when Emma Thompsom realises her husband has given the neckalce to someone else).Yes, she is married, and I'm willing to bet a lot that Mark is not happy to go behind his friend's back. But sometimes life's a little more complicated than its user's guide.

This scene is great. Sure, what he did was kind of rude, her being married and all, but it also helped him get it off his chest. And this shows how hard it was for him to love someone so untouchable. It's so saddening for the audience.
