I used to think that Eric Sykes was a bit, well, bland. Kind of there, but not, if you know what I mean. However having watched his variousness over recentness, surely he is up there among them all? Especially as he is a writer as well as an actor. The more I see, the more I like!

I think you were probably watching the 1979 re-make as that was the only one where Deryck Guyler appeared as a milkman. Deryck Guyler did not appear at all in the original 1967 film.

The milkman in this 1967 film is Dermot Kelly. Derek Guyler did play the milkman in the 1979 remake.The films were based on a TV sketch by Eric Sykes and Derek Guyler did appear in that sketch but as a policeman (not a milkman).
