I wish more soprani would do sing this aria (if they could!). It is glorious music but I guess the market and talent for Meyerbeer is slim these days. I've only heard three recordings: Sills' and now June Anderson's. She is exquisite here; the control is totally there. I wish she had done the alternate ending as in Sill's recording, but for a live performance, this is great singing.

Merveilleux débuts de June à Paris. Une distribution remarquable avec entre autres Michèle Lagrange soprano française elle aussi à ses débuts. La mise en scène très critiquée parait très classique sue cette vidéo.
