yes, just skip the hot pepper flakes to make white kimchi (baek kimchi). All other ingredients are the same.

There's no MSG in kimchi unless you're getting cheap commercial crap that was made in 1982.

Hi Maangchi,thanks for the video, I just came back from Korea and I loved the food there. I'm now trying to make kimchi myself at home, just one quick question,I had those non-spicy Kimchi in Korea without lots of hot peppers,I want to make those ones, do I just skip the hot peppers or there is another way to make it?

Just skip fish sauce and oysters. It will still be good when it ferments.
