Kobe said it best: let Kobe be Kobe. He's the best in the game today. When he finally retires, then let the MJ debate begin. Right now we have no idea how his career will play out. I'd love to see 3 more rings. We could also, possibly, see 3 more flameouts, which would take Kobe out of the GOAT convo, as much as I would hate that. Until this year, I thought Kobe was right there with MJ. Now I realize you have to wait until a player's career is over b4 judging like that.

dude....I'm the biggest Laker and Kobe supporter out there, and I personally hate Shaq with a passion. But are you seriously old enough to remember the threepeat days? The entire Lakers offense was predicated off the double teams that Shaq drew. Shaq was the one that was double teamed far more often than Kobe, because at that time no one could stop Shaq one on one. Like I said, IMO Kobe is simply the best...but to say that Shaq didn't get double-teamed is incredibly wrong.

kobe gets double teamed the most in the league he even got more double teamed than MJ.

ok ok for all yall ppl arguing who was the most important one in the lakers when they got the threepeat again, it was KOBE. shaq scored alot because there was no double team down low so he was able to score easily but if he was double teamed down low then he'll dish it out to to guys like kobe, fisher, rick fox, horry but he wasnt doule teamed at all. so shaq scored more and won mvp. and plus kobe was still young and shaq had alotta experience.

Poor Kobe he has a very hard time expresSsing himself. Especially when asked how he managed to finally lead his team this year. "That's something I figured out buddy". Not exactly the best answer. Kind of an awkward moment actually. I give Kobe a lot of credit this year. But I must say from all the hype which started from his Rookie year, this year was his best. Finally after 12 seasons. Kobe, it's not your fault the NBA is like what it is today. I miss the Golden era of Basket Ball.

I know it's a tough pill to swallow to the Kobe homers. But Prime Shaq was way more dominant and flat out a better franchise than Kobe is or ever will be at this point in his career.

If you're implying that Kobe is more important to that Laker championship team than Shaq then you are flat out wrong.Shaq won the finals mvp consecutive times for a reason. Shaq was the leader, the batman. Kobe, the Robin, the sidekick during Shaq's greatness. Just admit it it's not that hard to swallow that Shaq was better than Kobe during those championship years period end of story. Even the Kobster liked his role as the #2 man.

Interesting that you chose Robert Horry in this discussion. Horry was a role player in all of his championship years and Horry got those championships with Duncan and Shaq which happens to be the most dominant players since Jordan retired. Kobe on the bench during these times. Kobe took 3 fucking years to develop his game. You should really take a look at Jordan's Rookie season it blows some of prime Kobes out of the waterYou were 12 when Jordan retired in 98. Kids say the dardenst things

Acually Robert Horry is also apart of this "Winning a championship in the Post Jordan" era but I guess he better than Kobe right? I mean he got 5 rings and 4 in the post Jordan era! Why do you exist? |
