The trouble with Sinn Feinn is twofold: they are much too simple in their primary notions,and the Church has them in its pocket. The combination of these two things is the disaster of IRish history... nothing else accounts it more that these two factors....!

The Protestants can't be blamed for the 'cupla focail'. See 2.b. irish-criminology dot com and read the documents setting out how the Papacy betrayed the native pagan gaels and imposed in on the British to teach the Irish religion and morals, language, law, fertility, etc,etc..
