Uh, does no one else find it wierd that Skinner infers from the behaviour of pigeons the motives which governs the behaviour of humans?Isn't that sort of like studying a sundial to try and figure out the internal workings of a clock?Skinner's epistemology is way off...

I'm doing a project on B.F. Skinner and want to use this clip to demonstrate his findings a little better. First off, I just want to make sure this is his work and secondly, if anyone could tell me a little bit more about it, that would be awesome. Thanks for posting this! Just drop me a line if you know any more info!

The third degree is the rational anima. Which represents the potential capacities that distinguishes humans from all other animals. It is a shame that psycologists do not study authors before 1700.

Aristotle distinguishes between 3 degrees of anima. The first degree is that responsible for vital functions which is the only one present in plants, but also present in all living beings togheter with other anima degrees. The second degree is concerned with sensitive life: instincts and condionated responses.Everything within Behaviorism is concerned with the sensitive anima.

Yeah! Skinner rules! People that don´t understand this procedure is because they haven´t studied it. Operant conditioning is, I think, the best theory to explain behavior and other things... Great video! If people get angry because they think they´re not pigeons or rats, you´re wrong! That´s the worst mistake, people! Get a book of Pavlov, Watson, Skinner, Thorndike, etc, and maybe you´ll understand!!!

Let me inform you. Pigeons in the wild often weigh LESS than their counterparts in the lab. In addition, some people found that lab pigeons actually lived more time and were healthier than "free" pigeons. Third, what do you mean by ethical, here?

What is a "normal state of mental being" for a pigeon? I think maybe your anthropomorphizing animal's behavior there.

Great video! Thank you for this |
