The Morph, introduced February 25, 2008, at the The Museum of Modern Art in New York City, is a joint project mobile phone concept by the Nokia Research Center and the University of Cambridge. (wiki)

I done some quick google searches, it looks like the nanotechnology to make this possible is still very much in the very early stages of development and might never make it beyond the lab, also Nokia say that "nanotechnology could help reduce manufacturing costs"That is what could be around in 7 years time, I think thats what people are getting confused with, nanotech will only be used in the manufacturing phase not the end product, as the Morph is only a concept it's just an idea.

That's too far away, since this has actually physically been made in the University. Only thing left is to integrate everything. Which can take atleast 7-15 years.

I think a more realistic time frame would be about 50 to 70 years, the next few decades will mostly see cell phones become more integrated into the Internet and packing more lifestyle features into them.

Well not now, but certainly within 20 years.Remember around 20-30 years ago when people said that something like the Iphone was nearly impossible to accomplish?

An interesting idea but I really don't see this technology being put into phones, nanotech does have many applications but this is just a fantasy, it will never become commercially available. |
