Soo.. Kanji are a big writing system? Like.. Here in Norway, we have only 29 letters in out alphabet..

What do you mean? Don't they use Katakana?
silverkitten420 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
To help people memorize the way to write these symbols maybe you should have things that look like the symbol show up and then it changes to the character...like mo looks like it could be a fish...so you can have a fish jump out and it then changes to mo.And maybe you should show how it is written, cause I know there is a certain order in which you write the strokes.I don't know, just a suggestion. And I like the hiragana song better than the katakana one.<33

Hiragana is used for native words as master gouken said. Katakana is used for any foreign words such as the english word engineer.Kanji is Actually Chinese writing, becuase the Chinese helped the Japanese create its writing system.

Hiragana was simplified over the course of many centuries from the complex and annoying to write Kanji into simple, curvy figures that it is now. it is used for very high frequency words of japanese origin, for example the endings of verbs are written in hiragana, because they are common and always the same.katakana is for foreign words.kanji is logographical (one picture = one idea, not one sound), and is used for content words, for example "justice".
