what could be done on cloudy days when demand is far outweighing supply? Solar and wind energy are both beneficial, but bio fuels are an immediate answer to a global proble that needs little to no development

Im not talking E85, Im talking a corn oil derivative, Ethanol is produced without petroleum. Methane gas is also produced by manure, feed a bunch of cows some beans and bang, cheap smelly fuel, lol! Biodiesel works without petroleum, that can be made from waste fry oil. Fuel is everywhere is we are resourceful and clean about it.

hmmm that could work but teh problem is still that ehtnaol requires a small amount of petroleum, but it IS still better than using JUST petrolium.

pay attention, I said instead of spending hundreds of billions on war, spend a few billion developing desert area for hydroponics greenhouses which have a higher yield and shorter grow times, which results in shitloads more corn and sugar! No trees harmed in the making of a greenhouse in the desert!

THe more we rely on ethanol then mroe ppl will use it, and well need more adn have to cut trees for more space. teh main problem with ethanol today is that is still somewhat oil based

the food prices of corn have gone up because of our new reliance. Some of it is contributed to high oil prices but a the same time the supply and demand factor is in play. With us experimenting with ethanol farmers can now charge higher prices. But ethanol would be cheaper, but i beleve until we have found a way to harness sun power for cars. If you harvest sun power the less trees we have to cut for ethanol.

the problem with food prices has nothing to do with fuel, it has everything to do with current fuel prices. Food has gone sky high because farmers pay $5 for a gallon of diesel, they paid less than $2/gallon 8 yrs ago. THe development of non rainforest areas would suffice. Growing more sugar and corn would drive down the price, then, using ethanol as cheaper fuel, it would also level the fuel pricing further. its a pay now, gain later, opposed to oil, which is pay now and pay later
