yeah i agree, it was like she was too proud to play some tier III and IV events, would've probobly helped her confidence to win some. But ultimately i think it was injuries ruined her. She was constantly injured, tons of back and ankile problems. too bad, after the 1996 wimbledon, i thought she'd be the next great talent in tennis. 16 years old in a Wim Semi-final.

the worst thing with anna, was she hit too many errors her serve was woeful and she wouldnt step down to play lower tournaments. but yeh ispaht your right, she IS a great talent,winning record over the great capriati!

I hate it when people said that Anna is just beautiful with no tennis skills to match.Anybody who follows tennis knows that Anna was a very talented player with a complete all-court game. It's just a shame that all the offcourt distractions got into her.

and just imagine how Monica would still be had she not been stabbed. as for kournikova, all beauty, no substance, the girl never won a singles title.

More than any other players, Monica makes her opponent WORK. She just keeps piling on pressure upon pressure, angles, line drives, power AND ACCURACY. As Pam Shriver so cleverly pts out, Monica doesn't leave you alone forehand side or backhand side.

Ann was a very good player, even Davenport said so, besides she was the Number 1 tennis player and won two Grand Slam Doubles...you cannot be a good player and do this...Big deal, she didn't win a SINGLES tournament but she was ranked #7 in singles and won dozens of Doubles tournaments....
