A wonderful Chazzan!I don't think anyone will come any closer to Chazzan Rosenblatt's own rendition.

Sparse breathing is not a sign of good or proper singing.

Like a good none-complicated dry red wine...You don't have to be a maven or into chazonos to love him...Anybody knows where and if he is a ba'al tefilah on the high holy days?

The best Cantor in the world today is Chaim Adler. None of these other Cantor sing as naturally as he does. He rarely breathes-and his nigh notes are so gorgeous. All these young cantors like Helfgott sound alike-like clones. I like Baumgarten very much. He has a natural effortless voice with beautiful tone. Helfgott and Ben Zion Miller shriek and have burnt out their voices. I love Yaacov Moltzen's beautiful tone. But noone will ever be a Rosenblatt or a Hershman in our lifetime.

baumgarten is very good, however, he may be head and shoulders taller than us in chazonnus, but helfgot is far far above him.there is no question about it. I would rank baumgarten after a few other chazzonim including yoinoson bleier (belz) from london and kohn (satmar) london born but in new york |
