The P4 is slooooooow. A PowerPC G4 at 800MHz can easily be 2X faster than a P4. The reason for this is becuz the P4 has 20 pipeline stages. The G4 has 7. You may think the P4 will eventually catch on. But it's not a perfect world. There are branches and bubbles. When a branch happens, the hole pipe emties. This is where the 7 stage pipeline is handy. And the 20 stage P4 really gets screwed when a branch happens. This is why a 800MHz G4 can beat 3GHz P4.

hey, pentium 4 realeased in 2001, which many computers still run. Thats 8.5 years of market share and cpu archetecture. The p4's archetecture is still good today, thats why a 3.2 ghz pentium 4 can still run crysis with a good graphics card

You can't say the Pentium 4 sucks... It was originally released in 2000 so cmon give it some credit! I do however say the Pentium 4 sucks when it comes to leakage which means it needs more power to run... and runs far hotter than it should! Still a good CPU though.

intel pentium 4 SUCK BIG TIME it can barely play the latest games singel core processors suck. i have a core 2 quad 2,4 GHz and it rocks
