manfred62493 is correct the Kinks were banned by the American Federation of Musicians after the summer of 1965 for 4 years believed to be over their bad behaviour on stage from previous performances even though neither side officially gave any reason.Google Kinks/American Federation of Musicians and you can read about it or just read the Kinks in Wikipedia tells the same story.
