I agree. Too many concentrations on individual voices. This piece is not about individual voices but about the solemnity of the music.

To honest with you, I've heard better recordings of the choral version. Started off a little sketchy. Not the Tabernacle's best performance. There are too many breaks and single individuals sticking out. But it got better halfway into it.
