no thats not why, they do it because its a tradition in aviation when there is a special event of some sort (ex. a pilots last flight, a new aircraft arriving at the airport... etc.)

Nah, its just a tradition in aviation. They spray fountain like water across the aircraft, celebrating a specific event.
