So we should treat the extremely high crime rate of fatherless children as a coincidence. Barack was acknowledging some of the root issues of which the crime rate is a symptom. Should that be ignored, when it obviously plays a factor. I think it's obvious there's not an automatic cause and effect, but the statistics certainly indicate something, and Barack shows by example that someone can grow up without a father and be successful. He also understands that the chances are against it.

Obama is a truly talented speaker. Read his written speeches, you absorb the details and subtle writing under the speeches must easier. His ability to use metaphors and allusions are masterful in a way no one can doubt. I do not agree with all of Obama's policies, but if you are rebuking only his ability to write and speech, it is mistaken. He integrates ethos, pathos, and logos perfectly in a mixed balance into his speeches in a way that rivals the Greeks themselves.

someone needs to tell him that correlation doesn't mean causation. just because you don't know your father doesnt mean you'll go steal and kill. this speech is uninspired pandering. the president has to do more than say what everyone wants to hear, especially if it's the same thing we've been hearing forever.

I love to hear this man talk. Compared tot he joke that is called McCain, how can he not win?I agree with almost every stance he has. Why isn't it november yet?Not that I can vote for him, being dutch and all. But if I could, I would.I thoroughly enjoyed this speech up until the last minute or so. Why put the faith of Jesus Christ above all others? A generalization about having faith would have been enough in my opinion. And I believe there's a little statement about it in your constitution.
