a computer is just as realiable as a guitar, or mic or any other peice of hardware you bring on stag. The problem is when you do daily activities on the OS partition that you go on stag with. The solution is to create a a seperate OS partition and use it only for Studio, then It shoudl be highly predictable. the only time it may become unstable is when installing untested programs, in which case do a ghost image so you can revert back to a previous OS state, if some problem should arrise.

It looks like it's a simlpe midi controller pedal. They're most often used for guitar rackmount effects switching. That one he had looks like a particularly trick example, tho!G
