The point is that there has not been much artist that put there soul in there music as otis, sam cooke, marvin gaye, the list goes on and on.the music of today is nothing but get rich quick and booty call songs. the music from the 60s to the early 90s have been great to me.That's my option on this i'm not a fan i'm a lover of great music so i'm more than a fan for all great artists.

Otis is my favorite singer. I never get a rush or a compulsion to jump up and down and dance when this guy performs. He covered the Beatles' Day Tripper and Hard Day's Night, allegedly penned "Can't Get No Satisfaction" when it fact it was written with him in mind by Mick Jagger and Keith Richards. He was James Brown's competition. He was adored by all his fans. He was the greatest 60's singer of them all, IMHO.

I didn't know Ska was black....... hell, in all reality music doesn't really have a color does it? I mean, any person can make any music and any person could like it I think. Music is the language of the heart I once heard.

I saw him in St. Louis in the 60's - front row. I remember he was soooo tall! Filled the entire stage. People went nuts and near the end were about ready to mob the stage. He cooled things down by sitting down on the edge of the stage and singing one final slow song, then waved to us and exited. I still get chills thinking about it. |
