Gas Shortages Continue As Refiners Recover

Some gasoline stations in parts of the Southeast are out of fuel and shortages could persist for days. That's as refiners continue to recover from the one-two punch of hurricanes Ike and Gustav. (Sept. 23)

Actually,I was just trying to stick to the point on who is responsible for blocking offshore drilling,not to perpetuate a discussion on the pros and cons.But,as far as what else I got,I'm all for T.Boone Pickens plan to use our natural gas resources.This whole deal with Hybrid and electric vehicles is just great,but nothing new.What concerns me is getting the CLEAN electricity to charge these vehicles.We have had a Department of Energy for about 30 years with no new nuclear power plants built.

@ TECH:And even if we do drill offshore the oil we find will only be sold on the world market due to capitalism and we won't even see a drop of that oil until 5-10 years later. So that doesn't even matter. We need to invest in green energy not the same old ways...what else you got?

WIn the meantime, we can thank our good freind Nancy Pelosi for blocking the vote to drill offshore.

@ Techklec:I guess you got that talking point from the news but I'm sorry to tell you Democrats do have a slight majority but it's not enough to override a Presidental veto. In other words it's a lame duck Congress. Sorry to burst your bubble put Bush got us in this shit.

someone i know in asheville nc said there were only two pumps even open in the entire western part of the city and lines were at least 1/4 mile long in both directions. NEWS is covering it up to prevent a major fear -- it's coming to everywhere! Stock up on gas now!
