I love this track!Re: live4jazz's comment:Freddie Hubbard was also experimenting with funk before Miles, at least with albums called "a Soul Experiment" and "Black Angel". And in my HUMBLE opinion - Miles wasn't the star of his "On The Corner" sessions, his rhythm section of Jack DeJohnette and Michael Henderson was - just LISTEN to their amazing grooves which were so ahead of their time!

Dr. Donald Byrd probably brought more OG's into jazz than any single artist back in the day. His chops are flawless and he always tried to attract new listeners. It is not fare to compare to Miles Dewey Davis , who changed the direction of music more than Celia Cruz changed her hair color, but Byrd was stretching into funk before Miles blew up "On the Corner".
