during the great plagues in eauropean history, people liked to get shitfaced to ease their misery; to the point that many drunkards were buried with the plague victims, mistaken for being dead (but just smashed). So a system of putting little bells on every grave ensured that if the fellow woke up, he could ring the bell. They were known as "dead ringers." Example: A dead ringer of wesley snipes would need to look as much like mr. snipes as those drunkards looked dead. ...peace and love!
