Das Stück hat vor allem Peter Maffay in Deutschland bekannt, er war mit dieser Komposition von Peter Orloff mehrere Wochen auf Platz 1 der deutschen Single-Charts. Hasselhoff hatte mit seiner Version keinen nennenswerten Erfolg. Es gibt eine wunderbare Parodie von Oliver Kalkofe zu diesem Lied - siehe Kalkofes Mattscheibe !!!

OMG, how I loved him in my childhood days and still I think he made some very cool songs. I so not exactly know, why his fanbase in Germany (my homecountry) is so damn high, i'm surprised myself, but at least he's not forgotten. He'll always will be Michael Knight for me, that was the coolest role he ever played. Can't wait to see the new "Anaconda"-Movies, where he plays the main villain, they must be quite cool (even as low budget productions).
