you are kind of right...Mediocre corpses decomposing in violin coffins are no match for the evolved players of today like Mutter(technique&depth) and Vengerov(warmth&sway).Back in the day Paganini was the best, today,children, 5yr old play his tunes...But I do believe juxtaposing Bach and Gubaidulina is not the same as a bout between them.Contemporary players honour&exalt the classics,even when they are far more evolved&surpass their masters...That is their humility! This,is your humiliation!

Brilliant - I've ordered the CD already. It's out now here in the UK - in the USA in October.Such a great, intelligent, musician. And she's a beautiful woman too.

Sounds great--I love her Gubaidulina's music. I get to hear Mutter play it in Feb 2009--can't wait!
