"Otaku" foreigners have dramatically changed the image of "Otaku" more brighter in Japan. Until then Otaku was a symbol of gloominess. Recently even Japanese government have supported Japanese otaku culture. They have a big goal to attract more than 20 millions foreign sightseers by 2020. The last years # is around 8 millions. The current Japanese prime minister, Taro Aso is known as freak of Manga, I don`t like him because of his party (LDP) though.

HEEEY what about Family Guy, or American Dad? Some great American cartoons that have little musical bits... The theme songs are even catchy.Disney movies are for kids, yeah, but the music and animation in those movies are fantastic, especially the computer animated ones. They improve more and more over the years with computer animation.I love both American and Japanese cartoons, as well as comic books. I'm not ignorant at all about my interests in Japanese culture and manga/anime.

wow that just makes all american anime fans look bad from what I hear otaku isn't something you want to be called. I haven't met any Japanese person come up to and tell me how much they love Superman
