why did'nt he bow to the instructor of the class

I was merely offering an art the practices it. Whether or not you think it's possible is irrelevant. It happens...all the time. I myself have been faced with two attackers. I was fortunate and succeeded. The training I've had certainly helped. It takes half a second to break a finger, the mind doesn't respond that quickly. But yes, in some cases it might be possible to pull away. Depends on the situation. All. Depends. On. Who's. Fighting.

Experience determines perception. Perception determines reality. It's obvious that your views are based on what you have seen and learned. It doesn't make it wrong, but it does make it limited. We have both seen different things and they have influenced our opinions. That has been what I have been trying to convey. Which is why I won't commit %100 to any art. They all have their advantages. Perhaps you'll witness something that will change your views someday, perhaps not. Agree to disagree.

Put it like this. I'm fighting you I get the mount and you go for my fingers. Big fucking deal, i can yank my hand out pretty quickly. Also, BJJ self defense and what you see in MMA is VERY different, we're taught how to deal with these real world issues. krav is awesome for weapons defense, but when they advertise being able to take on a group of people they're tsalking shit. They're selling their art. Have you seen that kind of training, it's not exactly realistic.

*encountered. I should add the second most important factor in a fight...something that cannot be addressed in ANY MMA event - the element of surprise. In a "real" situation you have NO idea what the other guy knows. No fight tapes, no strategy, you're at the will of chance. An unsuspected kick to the the sternum changes everything. It's one thing to expect something from an opponent, it's something else entirely to be caught off guard.

I make a statement about eye attacks, you respond with a suggestion, "if he's going at my eyes, chances are I'm in the better position and am winning the fight" to which I imply you have never incountered such an attack (as to say it will turn a fight around), you come back with some silly notion about practicing them during sparring?? Worse yet, you make it apparent that you are a victim of the "you tube" generation. As to say - If it hasn't been captured on video, it doens't exist.

I hesitate to argue with you any further. You make biased claims and ridiculous arguements. You wonder which art teaches breaking fingers, and I know of several. You wonder which art address multiple attackers, and yet you say you like Krav Maga - which practices it (along with several other arts)

youll never them to see the light.all i know is in mma if there is a low blow or accidental eye poking, they get a time out to.now a time out we all agree doesnt happen in a real fight.you left out biting, also on multiple attackers the same guy that said you should run thinks you should fight from your back?dont figure
RightWingCon81 (November 30, 1999 at 12:00 am)
BJJ was an MMA before MMA became popular, punching, kicking from the feet, take downs, etc. was done by Brazilians in Vale Tudo fights which were less controlled than the eary UFC and they STILL succeeded. I like other arts, like Krav and Muay Thai, but the bulk of ANY realistic MA program MUST be BJJ. PERIOD! It'll cover a good 80% of any real fight. And Please post the video of the boxer who beats up a kid and 2 old men to prove you can take on more than 1 opponent.

I don't really get what you're saying? Which art addresses multiple attacker scenarios and which art will save you from eye gauging? BJJ competitions DON'T have eye gauging, nor does the UFC past or present, but that doesn't';t mean BJJ can't address such issues. It would be stupid to have two guys in gis doing BJJ and suddenly one guy has a bloody eye ball in his hand doing a victory dance. Will Muay Thai address this? boxing? karate? Krav? Which art addresses this? Tell me.
