I really do love both Macross and Robotech. I mean it's impossible to prove, but if Robotech hadn't come to America in 1985, its quite possible anime may not be as popular and available in the US as it is in 2008.Just a thought...

I agree,If it wasn't for Robotech I don't think I would've appreciated the Macross universe as I do now.

I gotta say I love both Macross and Robotech. Is that so wrong? I love both for one reason because both have fantastic soundtracks. Music for both is great. I think it's important for people who were initially introduced to Macross via Robotech to watch the original Japanese show to educate themselves and appreciate the history of Macross, but I think it's unnecessary to insult Robotech fans. :)

Next year will be the 25th Anniversary of DYRL. One of the greatest animated movies ever made. It's fitting that Big West is celebrating it with the release of the Macross Frontier movie. Deculture!

Just rewatching this DYRL and the TV series + Macross Frontier..can't believe I ignorantly thought Robotech was better. Screw pretender Robotech and Harmony Gold. This is a masterpiece and the best Anime scene ever. |
