Ok, i didn't expect it to work that well. that's simply science at it's best. you know, real Mechs are in the making nowadays in Japan by several companies but are expected to be used commercially in about 20 years, due to the fact that they're too slow n bulky 4 the job (moving heavy objects, moving debris, etc). but who knows?:) this is a job well done! nice vid!

if a redneck can do it, an overweight little master mind boy can make one too.just thank god there is no giygas to accompany it

It is a real fea. It's not a autonomous spider robot but it works and it works pretty well for something built in a garage.

dudethis is pretty awesomebecause not many people can do this on their ownmaybe nasa can do better but who cares this is a pretty good feat

Like Yoruyonaka said, this isn't a real feat. If the legs pivoted independently and actively leveled the cockpit over uneven terrain it would be more impressive.

Thing needs better traction, and more clearance to handle rough terrain. THEN it would be damn awsome. Fix the sound problem. Mount a paintball turret or something, and you got a badass piece of work.

This thing does some badass moonwalks!

Shouldn't be something super hard to build, and just with a junkyard boat motor for a power source too. It's just an assembly of pistons fixed to hinged steel framed legs. If you do your calculations right on the legs (and that'd be pretty easy) one would be easy to put together that walked and turned with access to a good welder. The hardest part would be making the legs go down until they sensed pressure for moving up slopes. But would be a fun project if you had some dough to waste.
