The tension type crossbow originated in East Asia. The torsion type however has long been discarded due to the fact of having a shorter life and more difficult in mass producing.

Wrong. Composite bows were already known throughout asia before the Turks introduced them to Europe. The Roman version of "Torsion Type Crossbow" did not survive because it needs a lot of parts. That means it is not ideal for mass production. In addition, the design is not robust. The torsion type has a shorter life than the tension type.
