Because UFC has rules which Fedor is not OK with. Basically, if he signs a contract with them, he will have to have UFC's approval for anything he will decide to do. He will not be able to participate in TV shows etc. They will also not allow him to compete in combat sambo at home in Russia which he always does. Obviously nonsense to him.

fedor has good take downs, they just ain't textbook wrestling takedowns, he has more of the uperbody judo style throws and stuff rather than shooting in for the double or signle leg, in his fight against heath herring we see him take down heath well, and against schilt aswell and many other ocasions, his takdowns are good and he's the best!

yeah it mostly matters on how much you want it, and how much mental toughness you have to achieve that victory and become the best in the world, which fedor has all the qualitys of, i mean he has no fear in one of his interviews he says he does sometimes get nervous and all but he still keeps his mental toughness and confidence to maintain the fight in a positive and respectful manner
