Yes, the UK is blessed with different, more powerful versions... Lichfield Imports will be offereing a "Type 20" 395hp 3.8 0-60 vers. and there will also be a less expensive 330S and 380S (330hp and 380hp). Japan on the other hand has the 20th anniversary "Takumi" version (same hp, but diff. control arms, springs/shocks/sways, badges) and an upcoming "Spec-C" rumored to have 320bhp. ^.^

The big change in MY2009 (in the US) was regarding the lesser trim level WRX... The change with the WRX was exterior (STi style front grill w/ WRX badge), Turbo (Legacy IHI VF40) which in turn increased hp to 265, slightly larger sways, and a stiffer suspension. As of current there is no confirmed MY2010 news for the STi. If anything, an update to a more aggressive alignment and better tire choice would make it a much better handling car from the factory because power is really not an issue.

hmm perhaps it was the MY2010. I know they had a model update coming with updated suspension and 320hp.

The MY2009 is exactly the same as the MY2008... The only difference is a new color option (Satin White Pearl instead of Aspen White) and a Sunroof option in countries other than US.)

If you watch the WHOLE Top Gear segment, the STig actually took the FQ300 version of the EVO X (the one with 300hp and SST instead of 360hp but still MORE expensive than the regular STi) at the track against the STi, and the STi was actually faster through the course.

Don't look at this current model Sti (2008). Been hearing the MY2009 will be much improved. |
