This movie is a work of art!Not to mention the fact that two Star Wars villains play the protagonists of this film.

A wonderful movie! It goes on for about an hour in standard Hammer style (though it's not technically a Hammer film) then abruptly turns into a Kojak episode for about twenty minutes. Telly is magnificent because he's so Telly and so out of place, yet defiantly Telly! Then there's Cushing and Lee, teaming up as though they'd always been a team, and that beautiful Spanish actress who plays a Polish countess. Not to mention Rasputin-boy. You just can't make this stuff up! (But they did.)

This movie serves as a warning for science to not probe too deeply into the mysteries of the monstrous unknown, but to leave the occult alone. That being said, Telly Savalas' performance is a wonder to behold.
