ROFL "The future of books" ... hmmmmm, I doubt it. Drop a paperback in the bath, and you might think "oh well" Drop your Kindle or whatever e-reader in the bath and you start crying.

Kindle has a high-speed EVDO connection and there's no monthly charge, unlike the iPhone. The iPhone is MUCH more expensive when you realize you have to pay not only the up-front price but then you also have to pay for monthly service. It seems like you need to take a good look at how you handle your own finances.

This is a stupid invention. For the amount of money one pays for this device, they could by an iPhone which is an E-book reader and like a million things more. It's like someone inventing a bow and arrow when a gun is already invented. AND THEN PRICE IT HIGHER! Anyone who buys this needs to seriously consider the way they handle their finances.

I just bought one and should be receiving it in a couple of days. I hope I like it :) I've been wanting to get one for months now but have been holding off because of lots of complaints about the design and everyone waiting for the new version. I eventually bought one because I was able to get one at a really good price. I really hope I like it.

I used one in the book store and what really surprised me is that it looks just like paper. It works just like paper also because it is not back lit, so you need light on it....but man it looks like paper. I bet it does not do good with pictures though.

that seems pretty cool

It is supposed to work like paper. Paper needs light only the night time. If you use an LCD screen wit backlighting, you will have a lot of glare in the daytime.

doesnt even have a backlight? wtf...

What kind of battery life can you get on the eePC? Exactly. I think the eePC is nifty (will probably get one), but it is no good for a dedicated e-book reader. |
