The wealth of rich allegory in this movie was astounding. I found it absolutely beautiful that Guillermo Del Toro was able to tell a compelling tale about the Spanish Revolution through the format of a modern fairytale.My favorite parallel, The pale man's feast was an analogy to Franco's regime. Great movie, definitly worth a rent if your considering doing so. Subtitles didn't bother me at all. I have spanish as a second language, so actually, it helps me brush up on alot of words n phrases...

The part I realy found cruel, is when the Hitler-like character (captain) caught those 2men hunting for rabbits. And he killed them both in a very cruel way, very harsh scene.

subtitles did not bother me one bit! it just gets annoying cos you have to fully concentrate on the film, but one of the best films i have seen in a while.
